Shared Education 2017 and 2018

Shared Education

 

Primary 6 children will be participating in the shared education programme this term with Hart Memorial Primary School.  It involves teaching a series of PDMU, numeracy and global learning activities/lessons.  The activities will take part in both schools. Mr Mc Ardle’s P.6 class will work on the following topics with P.6 from Hart Memorial PS.

 

Theme:  Identity and Cultural Symbols.

 

We will discuss culture and diversity through identity and symbolism.

 

Dates for CRED lessons:

Monday 13th November: Hart Memorial 1.20-2.30

Children will discuss elements that make up identity and compare similarities and differences in identity.

 

Thursday 16th November Location: Presentation 1.20-2.30

The children will be able to identify the similarities and differences between the sporting and arts symbols within their local community.

The children will be able to discuss what each of their groups logos symbolise.

 

Monday 20th November: Hart Memorial 1.20-2.30

Plan a joint sculpture illustrating how we all ‘fit’ together in the community.

 

Monday 27h November: Hart Memorial 1.20-2.30

Create a joint sculpture illustrating how we all ‘fit’ together in the community.

 

Tuesday 30th November: Presentation 1.20-2.30

Create a joint sculpture illustrating how we all ‘fit’ together in the community.

 

Monday 4h December: Hart Memorial 1.20-2.30

Showcase their joint sculptures illustrating how we all ‘fit’ together in the community. Parents invited to observe exhibition of work and ask questions on rationale for designs.

 

 

Dates for Shared Problem Solving lessons:

Thursday 19th October Location: Presentation PS 10.30-12 noon

 

Monday 23rd October Location: Hart Memorial PS 10.30-12 noon

 

Dates for Global Learning lesson:

Monday 6th November Location: Hart Memorial 10.30-12 noon

 

 

All parents are welcome to attend the lessons to give their support and to see the fantastic work that their children are doing.
